Influence of carbon deposits on Fe-carbide for the Fischer-Tropsch reaction

چکیده

A well-known observation in the Fe-catalyzed Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reaction is that Fe-carbide catalysts deactivate due to carbon deposition. In comparison, influence of such deposits on product distribution has been less widely reported. The present work investigates relationship between kinetics FT for a carburized Raney-Fe model catalyst and composition catalytic surface with focus deposits. deposition during ongoing at low pressure decreases activity increases CH4 selectivity. Steady-state transient isotopic kinetic analysis (SSITKA) shows buildup C affects fast CO conversion sites surface, mainly responsible CC coupling via Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism, more than slow produce Mars-Van Krevelen mechanism. Hindrance migration chain-growth monomers by amount longer hydrocarbons. Nevertheless, SSITKA C2 products form faster, which likely since their formation increasingly depends formed proximate dissociation when increases. Carbon can be suppressed reversed increasing H2/CO ratio constant or total ratio. As such, performance stabilized operating elevated pressure, even if initially was started pressure. prolonged operation leads reactive character cannot removed anymore high-pressure operation.

Characterization of new Co and Ru on α - WC catalysts for Fischer - Tropsch reaction . Influence of the carbide surface state

An investigation of the performances in Fischer-Tropsch reaction of 1wt% M/WC(X) (M = Co, Ru; X = A, B), where A is a tungsten carbide protected by free carbon and B is a clean tungsten carbide, was carried out. Supported catalysts performances were compared to those of the parent tungsten carbides at 473 K and 20 bar. It was found that WC(A) produces mainly hydrocarbons but also 20-40% alcohol...

Evidence of carbon-carbon bond formation on GaAs(100) via Fischer-Tropsch methylene insertion reaction mechanism.

Sequential multiple methylene (CH2) insertions into adsorbed methyl species on clean gallium-rich GaAs(100)-(4 x 1) occurs to form higher alkenes (ethene, propene, butene) and two higher alkyl iodides (iodoethane, iodopropane), not reported for a semiconductor surface previously.

Fe-based heterogeneous catalysts for the Fischer-Tropsch reaction: Sonochemical synthesis and bench-scale experimental tests.

The sonochemical synthesis of nanostructured materials owes its origins to the extreme conditions created during acoustic cavitation, i.e., the formation of localized hot spots in the core of collapsing bubbles in a liquid irradiated with high intensity ultrasound (US). In particular, in the present work a sonochemical synthesis has been investigated for the production of three different iron-b...

Selective synthesis ofa-olefins on Fe-Zn Fischer-Tropsch catalysts

Fe/Zn oxides promoted with K and Cu selectively produce a-olefins at typical FischerTropsch synthesis conditions (2/1 H2/CO, 1 MPa, and 270°C). The simultaneous presence of K and Cu introduces a synergistic activity enhancement while maintaining the high oletrm selectivity obtained by alkali promotion. Structural and morphological differences in Fe-Zn oxides prepared from ammonium glycolate com...

The Effect of Temperature on Product Distribution over Fe-Cu-K Catalyst in Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis

The iron-based catalyst was prepared by a microemulsion method. The composition of the final nanosized iron catalyst, in terms of the atomic ratio, contains 100Fe/4Cu/2K. The experimental techniques of XRD, BET, TEM, and TPR were used to study the phase, structure, and morphology of the catalyst. Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) reaction test was performed in a fixed bed reactor under pressure o...
